Nurses are in high demand now more than ever. Some believe that today’s lifestyles are considerably unhealthy, thus more illness and disease. The United States Government predicts that nursing will soon become the second most popular profession in the entire nation. AAOHN Leadership Development Scholarship : Offered by the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, this scholarship can be yours if you’re pursuing a career in occupational and environmental health nursing. There are 2 scholarships up for grabs. One is offered by the AAOHN in the amount of $1,000.00, and the other is offered by Texas State AOHN and is also in the amount of $1,000.00.
Army Nurse Corps Association Education Fund: This scholarship program offers scholarships in the amount of $3,000.00 to nursing students who attend higher-learning institutions who have accredited baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs that include AD-BSN, BSN accelerated, Masters, anesthesia and doctoral programs. There are a few requirements, but there’s a real good chance you’ll meet one of them. Check it out.
Students who are eligible to apply for these scholarships must either be a nursing student who plans to enter the Army the Army National Guard or the Army Reserve, or have already served in one of these branches of the military. You can also apply for the scholarship if you’re currently enrolled in one of these branches. Finally, if one of your parents or your spouse is currently serving or has previously served in one of these military branches you are eligible also.
HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program: This is a federal program that consists of tuition payment, fees, reasonable educational costs and a monthly stipend. All you have to do is agree to a minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical at any health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses, and meet a few other criteria. The school you’re enrolling in must be accredited, you must be starting the fall semester, and be free and clear of any federal liens or delinquent federal debt. These are extremely competitive scholarships so apply asap.
Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship: This scholarship is offered in the amount of $1,000.00, and is available to nursing students who are in financial need and are enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.
McKesson Nursing Scholarships: This is another great nursing scholarship for students who meet the low-income requirements. A great twist on this one? If you are eligible, the scholarship is renewable for your second year of schooling.
